The cold black flats
of cadillac slats.

He bites his little tongue
Those seething words
still flicker their way
through his cruel teeth.
Ring around the ring finger.

cross the salt mines
into
Georgia's west
coast insurance
and liabilities
oceans away.
Nylon run
run
run down
that little calf
on the street.
keep.
keep.
Telephone away,
I can't hear a thing.
My heart
has shrunk
into a
tight ball of twine
stone stiff
keep moving
or you'll just
stand still
Breathe. Then swim.
